2018 Tri-Lakes Community Center 5K Loop Around the Lake

On August 18, 2018 volunteers from the Tri-Lakes Community Center hosted a family-friendly 5K Fun Run around beautiful Lake Dowling.  The morning’s activity was a kick off to the afternoon Corn Roast event that members of the Tri-Lakes Community participate in on an annual basis.  Proceeds from both the fun run and the 50/50 fundraiser at the corn roast are donated to the Challenge Center.  Last year,  we were able to purchase a snow plow attachment for use throughout the CCI organization, including our 10 Residential homes in Superior, WI.  The above pictured smiling faces are some of the participants and volunteers made the morning a very enjoyable experience.  All race finishers received a pint of beautiful Bay Produce cherry tomatoes and a finisher’s ribbon.

Pictured at right are the three youth division winners:  #204, Mary Boyle, who in first place overall with a time of 25:59.  Way to go Mary!  Taking second place, #175, George Wright, with a time o 26:09.  Third place in the youth division went to #205 (picture center),  Clare Boyle, with a time of 34:09.

Pictured at Left: The First Place adult finishers, Melissa Wright (32:24) and Noah Markon (29:40).  Mr. Markon happened upon the race while completing his morning run and decided to support the event by entering.  Both adult winners were gifted $25 certificate to Bay Produce online and a sampler basket of ripe tomatoes, basil, peppers, lettuces and cucumbers.
